Christina Gotthard, Talent Manager, Nordic Interim, Denmark

Christina, can you tell us about our background?

“I have over 35 years of experience in the hotel- and restaurant industry, and a broad background ranging from working at both small beach hotels to large 4- and 5-star hotels. I have managed hotels and have worked as a hotel manager, and I have also worked at the parliament as a conference and catering manager, and at the Copenhagen Airport. I eventually made a career change where I worked as a senior recruitment consultant for 8 years to find the right employees for the right teams. I then choose to become self-employed as I wanted to decide over my own time and I now spend my time working as a Talent Manager at Nordic Interim, as well as teaching, among other things, within the hotel industry, giving lectures, and finally as a mystery shopping consultant.”

What is your role at Nordic Interim?

“As a talent manager for the Danish team at Nordic Interim, I work to attract competent candidates and ensure a match between them and assignments. I place great emphasis on personal contact and want the candidates to feel valued and not just as a number in the database. In addition, I also work on exciting projects where I particularly feel that I can leverage my knowledge and focus within service and hospitality.”

What do you like most about your role?

“The opportunity to make a difference and help others, where I at the same time can contribute with my knowledge and experience within service and hospitality. The interaction with colleagues and candidates drives and motivates me!”

What are your interests/hobbies, and can you give us a travel tip, a good book, and a place to visit when in Copenhagen?

“I love to keep myself active in the form of Zumba! Besides this, I enjoy travelling, especially extended weekend trips abroad to experience new cultures and cuisines. A secret travel tip is a trip to Bologna, an underrated city with fantastic food and culture, few tourists, and just perfect for an extended weekend. When it comes to reading, I prefer non-fiction, with ‘Kaizen’ as a personal favourite. Read it at The Royal Library and enjoy the beautiful view over the water that glitters so beautifully like diamonds in the sunshine! I can’t live without bicycle! If you’re going to visit Copenhagen, I would recommend exploring the city’s many bike paths, which in my opinion is a fun way to explore the city!”
